Numa ala há muito abandonada da Basílica da Estrela, uma série de representações de fogos surgem como manifestação de algo que nos ultrapassa. Entre pintura, escultura e instalação, esta zona do edifício marcada pelo grande claustro é reactivada, propondo uma ponte com o passado do espaço, outrora um local activo de vida contemplativa e espiritual no coração de Lisboa.
In a long-abandoned wing of the Basílica da Estrela, a series of depictions of fire emerge as an expression of something that transcends us. Between painting, sculpture and installation, this part of the building – defined by its large cloister – is brought back to life, forging a link with the space’s past, when it was once a vibrant centre of contemplative and spiritual life in the heart of Lisbon.
